Project 3 - Teapot Carriage

Feedback from Classmates:
Most of them said that this was their favourite object, simply because it reminded them of a fairytale. One person suggested that I put a door and windows on the teapot to make it look more like a carriage. They also said that I needed to straighten the axels/wheels since they weren't centred. I highly agreed, and began searching for some curved doors that would fit on the teapot.

How it Relates to Remix Culture
My object is very similar to something you would see in a fairytale. Many of these fairytales involve small creatures using tiny human objects for furniture (spool for a table, matchbox for a bed, etc). I just decided to continue this trend. I think a teapot would be a perfectly sized carriage for mice or fairies, although very fragile. Fairytales perfectly encompass the principles of remix culture not just because of the twisting of everyday objects, but by taking old folklore and retelling it in a new way. Disney's Cinderella is a good example of remix culture as it took the original story of Cinderella and changed aspects of it to fix the story they wanted to tell. In the same way, I took an existing idea and twisted it in order to suit my imagination.
