3D Hybrid

 Hybrid Object

For this project we were tasked with creating simple objects and then combining them with a partner in order to create a new interesting design.

My objects:

My partner's objects:

Of my objects, we both decided we liked the far-left triangles/pyramids but we knew we needed to change it to be able to print. We also liked the one immediately to the right of it, and it was more stable than the first. The last one we liked was the middle top one as it was small and simple but also cute and solid.
From Madison's objects we both liked the first one as it looked really unique while also being self supporting. Apart from the first we also liked the third and fifth objects since they were simple but classy.

Sketches:

For these sketches I was combining my pyramid-like object with Madison's objects to kind of make legs.  I also experimented with my other objects as well, but none were very interesting. Ultimately we decided to use her first object with my far-left object.

Final object:

We decided that I'd just put the legs on every section of the base instead of the original 4. This way, it was better supported and went off of her original star. Overall I really like how it turned out.

PrusaSlicer:

Here's where we ran into problems. We thought the object would be self sustainable, however when we ran it through the slicer it created an unsupportable base where there wasn't one. Although that area was hollow in Rhino, it created a platform in Slicer that we're not sure how to get rid of.
